Muiderslot Castle was built to be as inaccessible as possible. Today, we strive to make Muiderslot Castle as accessible as possible for everyone. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

Wheelchair and mobility scooter<\/h3>\n \n \n <\/svg>\n <\/div>\n\n

The castle itself has many stairs and height differences and is therefore not accessible for those using a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
\nYou can visit the gardens, ramparts, castle square and tournament field. If you use a wheelchair or scootmobile, you can enter free of charge, as can one companion with a public transport pass per person.
\nIn the gardens you can follow an audio tour on your own smartphone or tablet.
\nPlease note that the courtyard is paved, but can be difficult to navigate in some places. The disabled toilet can be found in the Garden Room. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n

If you have a visual impairment, the free audio tour is a nice way to experience the Muiderslot. In the Museum Route and Tower Route you will hear all about life at the castle. For the gardens we also have an audio tour you can download on your phone.
\nAn independent visit can be difficult; we recommend you come with a companion. One companion per person may enter for free. Your official assistance dog is also welcome.
\nJust after the entrance, there is a bronze model of the Muiderslot and the gardens on the grounds, so you can also feel the castle.
\nFor groups, the multisensory guided tour “Touch obligatory!” is a special experience. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n

If you are easily overstimulated, a museum visit can be intense. This can be due to autism, burnout, non-congenital brain injury, tinnitus or another illness, for example. We also want to offer people who are easily overstimulated an enjoyable experience. Therefore, in 2026 we will organize four openings outside our regular opening hours, especially for a Sensory-friendly visit.
