Play: The Cricket and the Ant

Night after night, Mr. Cricket sings his heart out on the hill in the forest. Everyone loves it, and night after night they come to listen. Only Mrs. Ant never joins Mr. Cricket. She’s busy—far too busy. Cleaning, doing laundry, gathering food—things Mr. Cricket never spends a moment doing.

And so summer passes, giving way to fall and winter. Mr. Cricket is hungry and cold. When he catches a delicious scent near Mrs. Ant’s house, he asks her for help, but to no avail. Mr. Cricket chose to spend the entire summer making music! Now he’ll just have to face the consequences! Mr. Cricket struggles through the harsh winter, and at the first rays of spring, he sets out into the wide world.

Peter Faber
The performance is presented by Peter Faber. With passion and energy, Peter Faber entices his audience to immerse themselves in the reality of the story. He steps into the shoes of both humans and animals, brings them to life, and stands literally at the center of his story.
