At the Castle Cooking Club, you’ll learn to cook in a place where exceptional meals have been prepared for centuries. Under the guidance of our castle chef, you’ll discover new ingredients, recipes, and cooking techniques step by step. You’ll cook the dishes yourself, taste what you’ve made, and learn more about the flavors and eating habits of the past.

Flavors of the past with contemporary twist

Each Kasteel Cooking Club has its own theme, tailored to the season and the flavors of the moment. Over the course of eight classes, you’ll learn more and more about ingredients, cooking techniques, and unique recipes. We cook with a variety of themes, seasonal produce, and ingredients from our own castle garden. This makes every class a new culinary adventure. At the end of the series, we organize a festive tasting event for parents and guardians.

Theme 4: Summer

We’re escaping the heat and going in search of refreshing and cooling ingredients. We’ll create our own salads without a recipe, make lemonades, and did you know you can also cook with all kinds of flowers? This theme is also all about fruit and sweets. After all, candy already existed in the Middle Ages. Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed!

Practical information

For children 8 to 12 years old
Series of 8 lessons
Fridays from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
Location: the Castle Workshop of the Muiderslot
Cost: €200 per series of 8 classes (this includes all ingredients, materials, and use of the professional kitchen).
A cooking year consists of four themed blocks, each with eight lessons. You can sign up for each block individually or enroll your child for the entire year.
