Writer-in-Residence
Reading, writing, and the Muiderslot have been inextricably linked for centuries. In the seventeenth century, poet and writer P.C. Hooft wrote his famous works at the Muiderslot. Inspired by that tradition, the Muiderslot continues to invite writers and creators today to draw inspiration from the castle, its gardens, and the surrounding landscape.
For example, every year during Children’s Book Week, Muiderslot Castle hosts a special author as its Writer in Residence. This year, that author is writer and poet Pim Lammers.

From October 5 through 9, Pim Lammers will be working on a new literary work at Muiderslot Castle. He draws inspiration from the castle, its history, and the stories associated with this unique place.
In the impressive Ridderzaal, he has a permanent seat at the table, where visitors can watch him at work. This gives you a unique glimpse into a writer’s creative process and lets you discover how a story comes to life, step by step.

About Pim Lammers
Pim Lammers (1993) is a writer and poet. In 2018, his debut work was awarded the Zilveren Griffel, making him the youngest winner of this prize in history. He has since published more than twenty books and received several awards. He was also awarded the first Boer Boris Prize for his commitment to fostering a more diverse children’s book landscape.
