Collaborations

Learning together is not something you do alone. The Muiderslot collaborates with schools and cultural partners to develop educational programs that connect to the realities of the classroom while leaving room for wonder, creativity and research.

School Gardens

In and around the gardens of the Muiderslot, students learn where food comes from and how nature, history and sustainability are connected. With Group 6 of the Jozef School, we sow, weed and harvest every year in their own school gardens at the Muiderslot. The gardens are a place to see, smell, feel and discover. This is how learning becomes tangible and close at hand.

Partner Schools

The Muiderslot has been working intensively with primary education for a number of years through partnerships. Two schools from Muiden and a school for specialized education from Huizen visit the castle annually with their classes. Knowledge transfer, deepening and innovation are central to this. For example, for KC Muiderkring we develop programs on language and poetry with a link to PC Hooft, and group 7 of the Jozefschool gets inspired every year by artists who exhibit temporarily.

Vocational Education

The Muiderslot collaborates with the ROC of Amsterdam, location Hilversum in the field of cultural education. Education Assistant students gain practical experience in a special working environment and contribute their knowledge and ideas to the museum of today.

Since 2025, the Muiderslot, in cooperation with Yuverta Naarden, has offered internships to seven students. The pupils of Yuverta Naarden, a small-scale vmbo green school, work and learn one day a week for an entire school year at the Muiderslot.

Junior Guides

Group 8 pupils are trained as junior guides and learn storytelling, presentation and cooperation. In 2025-2028 we explore forms in which they share their knowledge and stories with older people, for example through meetings or joint activities, appropriate to the social role of the Muiderslot.

School gardens program

Students sow, weed and harvest in the historic gardens of the Muiderslot. They learn about (forgotten) vegetables, herbs and biodiversity and conclude with a cooking workshop, in which they process their own harvest under the guidance of the castle chef.

Art@Muiderslot

Each year we develop a customized program around a temporary exhibition. Students are inspired by art, heritage and nature and then get creative themselves in the Castle Workshop.
