Gifts and donations

One-time donation

A one-time donation is most welcome. The amount of the tax deduction depends on the taxable income and can be up to 52%. If your donation is a minimum of 1% and a maximum of 10% of your combined income (with a minimum of € 60,-), then your gift is fully tax deductible. You can donate via: IBAN: NL90 RABO 0343 1353 53 in the name of Rijksmuseum Muiderslot.

Periodic donation

Your tax advantage is greatest with a periodic donation. You donate a fixed amount each year for at least five consecutive years. Rijksmuseum Muiderslot has cultural ANBI status. This means the following: as a private individual, your gift is 125% deductible from income tax (for a minimum of five years); for companies, there is an additional 50% deduction from corporation tax.

Bequeath

Through your will, you can leave money or goods to the Muiderslot. You can name the museum as (co-)heir or opt for a bequest: a fixed amount or a specific part of your estate. You decide which part you want to bequeath. This is recorded in your will. Contact your notary to draw up or amend your will.

Inheritance and gift tax

The Rijksmuseum Muiderslot Foundation is an Institution for General Benefit (ANBI). As such, the museum is exempt from inheritance and gift tax. So you can be sure that your gift or bequest will go entirely to the Muiderslot.

Named fund

Do you have a special connection with the castle, the gardens, an object or a (stage) activity? With a named fund, you support a topic that is important to you in a targeted way.
A named fund is a one-time or periodic donation with a clear mission, within the museum’s objectives. Starting with a contribution of €30,000, the Muiderslot takes care of the entire administration.

In-kind donation

You can also donate in kind, such as a painting, sculpture, furniture or textile. If the museum includes the object in its collection, it will be appraised.
The gift then expires over five years. Each year you deduct 1/5 of the appraised value from the tax. Again, the cultural multiplier applies: an additional deduction of 25%, up to a maximum of €5,000.

Giving Act

The Giving Act makes donating to culture extra attractive. Private individuals may multiply their gift to a cultural ANBI, such as Rijksmuseum Muiderslot, by 1.25 (up to €5,000). Companies may deduct 1.5 times the amount in corporate tax (also up to €5,000). You may always donate more; the amount above €5,000 is just not subject to an additional deduction.
