In Search of the Vocabulary of Muiderslot Castle

Muiderslot Castle is full of stories and words. As part of the new “Castle Poets” educational program, students in grades 5 through 8 set out to discover the castle’s linguistic treasures. Inspired by writer and lord of the castle P.C. Hooft and the picture book *De Woordenschat*, they discover that words can be found everywhere—and that you can play with them endlessly.

In various rooms of the castle, students collect, combine, and invent words. They record their best discoveries on their own treasure map and in the growing Muiderslot Vocabulary.

Special education groups are warmly welcome at Muiderslot Castle. We are happy to accommodate the specific needs of students. For this reason, a class is automatically divided into two groups, each with its own museum docent.
