For secondary education
The Muiderslot is an inspiring learning environment where history, culture and current themes come together.
Programs are tailored to level and learning goals
At the Muiderslot, students discover how the past affects the present. They are challenged to think about big questions: about power and freedom, inequality and justice, identity and expression, and the relationship between man, nature and water.
The programs are interactive and connect to different subjects, such as history, CKV, civics and citizenship. Students look, listen, investigate and reflect – not only with their heads, but also with their feelings.
Educational programs for secondary schools are tailored to level and learning goals. Together we discuss which themes and forms of work best fit the classroom and curriculum.
What students investigate
- The role of the Muiderslot in different historical periods
- Stories of residents, power structures and dissenting voices
- Water as a means of defense and as a social issue
- Art, language and stage as forms of expression
Why the Muiderslot?
Frequently asked questions
Do I need additional chaperones if I come with my class?
Yes, each program indicates how many facilitators are needed.
Is there room to have lunch with students?
Tijdens het programma kan er niet gegeten of gedronken worden. Na afloop kan de klas buiten op het terrein eigen meegebracht eten/drinken nuttigen. Helaas hebben we hiervoor geen binnenruimte.
What is the Muiderslot’s vision for education?
Our interactive educational programs connect with students’ experiences. They combine knowledge with experience and invite them to make connections between then, now and later. Students explore with all their senses and are given room to ask questions and discover for themselves.
