Especially for large groups, the Muiderslot offers two active programs. The group is divided into small groups (max. 9 pupils), each with two own guides who, armed with a special storybook full of stories, facts and assignments, explore the castle. In this way the pupils go on an adventure together.
For young children there is On Castle Adventure, for middle and upper grades there is The Castle Mystery.
On Castle Adventure
Program On Castle Adventure (groups 1 through 4)
How did people live in a medieval castle? Who lived there, what did they eat and what did they do all day?
During this castle adventure, students discover the Muiderslot at their own pace. Armed with a picture book and accompanied by their own teacher or guide, they follow a route full of playful, sensory tasks. Along the way, they will learn all kinds of things about life in the Middle Ages.
An accessible, imaginative program for large groups, in which discovery, play and wonder are central.
The Castle Mystery
Program The Castle Mystery (grades 5 through 8)
On June 27, 1296, Floris the Fifth, builder of Muiderslot and Count of Holland, was murdered. But by whom? And why?
In this program, students explore on their own. Armed with a picture book and guided by their own teacher or supervisor, they independently search through the castle. They solve tasks that bring them ever closer to the truth. Will you solve the mystery?
A program full of history, excitement and sleuthing. Ideal for curious young researchers!
