Seven centuries, one castle – interactive tour

The Muiderslot is a place full of stories. Those who look closely will discover in the halls, objects and silent corridors traces of social themes of the past that are still relevant today.
A group of children are shown around the Muiderslot by the museum docent. A large chandelier hangs in the room.

A tour that encourages thought and discussion. About then, now and later.

During this interactive tour, students dive into seven centuries of history with a museum docent. They are introduced to different perspectives on themes such as power, gender, (im)freedom and sustainability. How did people in the past think about freedom and inequality? About wealth and poverty? About identity, migration and fake news? They draw the lines to the present. What has changed? And what exactly has not?

The program aligns with the subjects of history, civics and citizenship.
