The Muiderslot is not just any workplace. It is one of the oldest castles in the Netherlands, a national museum, a national crowd puller full of history, culture and atmosphere. More than 165,000 visitors a year come here for a unique day out, and the hospitality industry plays an important role in that. What will you do?
Hospitality is an important part of the experience. In our atmospheric museum café, The Garden Room, visitors enjoy fresh coffee, homemade pastries and healthy lunches. The warm welcome makes their day complete. As a hospitality employee, you will ensure that service runs smoothly and contribute to ensuring that visitors have an unforgettable experience.
Your duties at a glance:
- Preparing, starting and closing the workplace.
- Serving visitors in the museum cafe.
- Checkout of orders.
- Providing catering for our various packages.
- Occasional independent running of the kitchen.
- Working with your colleagues managing orders and inventory.
- Making sure everything looks neat and clean.
- Ensuring hygiene and safety according to HACCP guidelines
You:
- Has experience in the hospitality industry, such as in service or kitchen.
- Are preferably in possession of a certificate in social hygiene and a certificate in HACCP.
- Finds service and hospitality important.
- Are presentable, show initiative and have a commercial attitude.
- Are solution-oriented.
- Are a hard worker with a hands-on mentality.
- Speaks good Dutch and English.
- Are flexibly available: on weekdays, weekends and school vacations.

- The salary – depending on education and experience – is minimum € 2,426 and maximum € 2,813 gross per month (salary scale 3 Museum collective bargaining agreement) based on 36 hours per week.
- Vacation allowance (8%) and year-end bonus (3.4%).
- Travel expense reimbursement of €0.21 per kilometre. OV 2nd class is fully reimbursed, including OV bicycle Weesp-Muiden.
- Free admission to the Muiderslot.
- Reimbursement for necessary hospitality training.
- A schedule, which you fill out with the team, is known at least a month in advance. You will work 1 weekend day and 2 weekdays.
