What will you do?
The food and beverage offerings are an important part of the overall experience. In our charming museum café, De Tuinkamer, visitors enjoy fresh coffee, homemade pastries, and healthy lunches. The atmosphere and the selection offered by the café make a significant contribution to the overall experience and turn a day at Muiderslot into a special memory. As a kitchen staff member, you’ll be responsible for preparing fresh and wholesome ingredients. You’re hospitable, hands-on, and have a passion for food and drink.
Your duties at a glance:
- You’ll help develop the menu, seeking to create a connection between the venue, the program, and the guests.
- You will create dishes that fit within the concept for the hospitality industry and accommodate various budgets (while also taking into account the diversity of guests).
- You prepare the meals and do preparatory work for the days when you won’t be there.
- You’re up to date on the latest trends in the food and beverage industry and enjoy incorporating new developments and innovations into your kitchen.
- Together with your coworkers, you’ll keep track of inventory and coordinate orders with the food service coordinator.
- If necessary, you’ll help out “on the floor”: taking orders, processing payments, preparing orders, and keeping the restaurant tidy.
- You help create a welcoming atmosphere.
- You are responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards and regulations. You have knowledge of laws and regulations related to HACCP, occupational health and safety, and safety.
- At the end of the day, you’ll help tidy up, restock, and clean.

- Are presentable, show initiative and have a commercial attitude.
- You are flexible and available to work both during the week and on weekends, as well as on holidays and during school breaks.
- You have work experience in the hospitality industry and hold a certificate in Food Safety and HACCP.
- You should be able to express yourself well in Dutch and English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

- Depending on education and experience, the salary ranges from a minimum of €2,511 to a maximum of
€2,911 gross per month (pay scale 3 of the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement) based on a 36-hour workweek. - Vacation allowance (8%) and year-end bonus (3.4%).
- Travel expense reimbursement of €0.21 per kilometer. Second-class public transportation is fully reimbursed, and the cost of a public transportation bike from Weesp Station to Muiden is reimbursed.
- Reimbursement for required hospitality training courses.
- The schedule is announced at least one month in advance.
