Volunteer hostess/host

Hostess or host at a special heritage location. You are the point of contact for visitors to the Muiderslot. You know what there is to do that day, you know how to explain the routes and you inform visitors about practical matters and special activities. You work from the so-called 'Info House' in the courtyard of the Muiderslot.

One shift per week from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Who we are.

Near Amsterdam for centuries there has been a magical place by the water: Rijksmuseum Muiderslot. The best-preserved medieval castle in the Netherlands, surrounded by unique historic gardens. Every year many visitors from home and abroad enjoy the Muiderslot, a lively place where regularly changing activities take place. Will you join our team as a volunteer?

What will you do?

You will welcome visitors hospitably and show them around and in the Muiderslot.
You tell visitors what special activities there are that day.
You will answer practical questions from visitors.
You issue and take audio tours (in multiple versions and languages).

What do you bring?

You are enthusiastic, service-oriented and friendly.
You approach visitors proactively, in a positive and open manner.
You speak good Dutch and you also manage in English.
You are representative.
You are available one half-day per week, sometimes also on weekends, holidays and school vacations (because the castle is busy then).
