Visit Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot and while you’re at it, why not make your own chocolate? During this workshop, kids will learn all about the origins and history of chocolate. How did people find their cacao and how can we make honest chocolate? A very tasty and educational workshop for the kids…
Writer and poet P.C. Hooft lived at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot in the 17th century. He loved trees, plants and flowers and made sure the castle gardens were beautiful. In the 17th century, there already was a wordwide trading network for plants and herbs. Everything that didn’t grow in Holland, was easily imported from other countries. Cacao is one of those plants. Chocolate was a luxury product for mister Hooft and his friends.
