Tour: ‘Eureka’

This year, History Month is in the theme of “Eureka!”.

It is the exclamation you make when you have discovered something amazing. In the 700-year history of Muiderslot, countless inventions have been made. These have greatly influenced life at the castle. This special guided tour focuses on small and large inventions that changed the lives of the residents of Muiderslot forever.

All those different castle dwellers adapted Muiderslot to their own tastes and to their own times. New inventions brought changes to the castle. For example, during the tour you will discover that when the Muiderslot was built, glass was not used at all. So windows as we know them today did not yet exist! And did you know that the Muiderslot has an original 17th-century semi-automatic roasting spit?

Practical info:

• For adults only
• Duration 1 hour approx.
• A surcharge of 5,- applies, excluding a museum admission ticket.
• Of course, you may spend the whole day at the castle and gardens before and after the tour.
• The tours are conducted in Dutch.
