Amsterdam Christmas Choir

On December 18, The Amsterdam Christmas Choir will give a number of performances in the courtyard of Muiderslot castle. The four-part choir will perform an extensive repertoire of Christmas carols, the character of which is well suited to the medieval castle in Muiden. This concert is part of a series of performances in and around Amsterdam.

International repertoire

The four-voice Amsterdam choir sings classic songs a cappella, as well as many other contemporary numbers in various languages. The medieval Muiderslot will do even better justice to these songs. The choir is also looking forward to this special experience!

Tradition

Conductor Marja Oldenhave is the great inspiration behind the Amsterdam Christmas Choir, which came into being for a one-off performance in the Amsterdam forest in 2009. For this, Marja brought together a number of people from various choirs in Amsterdam. That turned out to be such a success that it has now become a tradition. In the twelve years of existence, performances have been given in various places in and around Amsterdam, such as museums, railway stations, on the ferry, from the Albert Cuyp market to the P.C. Hooftstraat and from the Salvation Army to the Hema and the Hilton Hotel.
