Plum weekend

The first weekend of September is the plum weekend at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot. The plums are ripe and juicy by then. Come and enjoy the plums with us!

What to expext during the plum weekend?

During the day, you can enjoy the Farmers’ Market in the castle gardens. Local farmers will sell fresh products.

There are guided tours through the gardens. Why have plums been growing in the gardens of the castle for centuries? You can hear all these kinds of things during the low key entry tours that take place all weekend.

Cooking & brewing with plums: The historic plum varieties in the gardens of the castle are also popular with chefs throughout the Netherlands. During the plum weekend, our own ‘castle chef’ provides short cooking demonstrations. What can you cook with plums? Our castle chef provides tastings of plum drinks! Do you rather think of savory dishes or desserts? Of course there is also fresh plum cake for sale in the museum café.
