This summer vacation (July 9 through August 28, 2022) will be a party at Muiderslot. From camping, dining and drawing in the castle gardens to splashing water activities, music and workshops. There is also a temporary presentation on tropical plants that have been found in the Netherlands since the 17th century. Come along and enjoy special surprises.Â
Camping
Have you always wanted to spend a night in a centuries-old castle full of stories? You can do so from July 15 through August 27 on Fridays and Saturdays at Muiderslot castle. In the plum orchard behind the castle tents are ready for an unforgettable camping experience. Read more.
Water activities
The Muiderslot has been surrounded by water for over 700 years. It is also part of four Dutch Water Lines. But was water a friend or foe to the castle? You can find out in the Waterschild pavilion behind the castle or by joining one of the many water activities this summer. There are water tours that keep your feet dry, but there are also activities that can get you soaking wet, such as sup tours over the moat. During the Water Weekend on August 20 and 21 there are many more games with water.
Taste history
Another fairy-tale edition of pop-up restaurant de Maaltuin is on the program: a special five-course dinner based on the stories of the castle. Book your dinner here. Or join a historical tasting by our own castle chef.
Experience the castle gardens
The historic castle gardens of the Muiderslot form the backdrop for garden safaris for kids, garden tours for adults and a special presentation on tropical plants. Every Tuesday and Thursday you can come and draw in the gardens and every Friday in the summer vacations there is a tie-dye workshop for kids and a knight’s boot camp in the gardens. And what about a special creative workshop for kids?
Plum weekend & highlight tours
In the summer holiday, we offer English spoken guided tours weekly! And traditionally, we close the summer with the plum weekend: then we celebrate the harvest of the plum orchard with all kinds of tours and activities in the first weekend of September. So put this in your agenda as well.
